Victory!

Tony had to work late yesterday, so today was my birthday celebration.  (This is the 19th birthday I've spent with the love of my life!)  We got up this morning and went to my favorite clothing store.  I was able to find 4 shirts, 2 skirts, and 2 necklaces.  Then, we headed to lunch at Market restaurant.  It was a comedy of errors that you had to be there to find funny.

When we got home, I retried everything on that I had purchased earlier.  Am I the only person who does this?  Well, I know I'm not the only person because Tony does it, too.  I just love trying on clothes!  After I finished, I decided to try on the dress.

Do you have the dress?  Or maybe the outfit?  It's that one piece of clothing that you love but no longer fits.

For me, it's a size 4 Ralph Lauren strapless blue dress that I wore one time- in October of 2005.  (I even remember I bought it on clearance at TJ Maxx for $5.00.  Everyone remembers those details, right?)  Tony and I were in Indianapolis celebrating our birthdays, and we went to a swanky dinner.   I would have liked to have frozen in the dress (fall and strapless don't go great together), but Tony loved it.  And, like most wives, I love it when my husband loves the way I look.

I never got to wear the dress again because I was pregnant by Thanksgiving, and I never got back to my original shape.

And, there it was in the closet.  Today.  I had already weighed myself this morning.  139.5.  But, I've been smaller than that and not fit in the dress.  Camilla brought me great joy, but she also brought me hips.  Or at least, I thought she did.  I decided to give the dress a try.

And do you know what happened?

Do you?

You think this is one of those happy-ending blogs?

Or is this an it-didn't-fit-but-I-will-tell-you-the-deeper-meaning blogs?

It fit.  Perfectly.  And Tony loved it.  Still.

Victory!

You're not the only one... I try on my stuff again when I get home too. I think it always looks different outside of the store. Congrats on the dress! I have a pair of jeans I want to fit into. But I have a WAYS (like 40 lbs) to go. I wore them right before I went to college and then gained 4 years of weight. I'm hopeful I can get into them again. I haven't had any children yet so the odds are somewhat in my favor. Hope you continue to have great birthday celebrations.
